Divided!! I Say We were Never United.

Unity in Diversity… The country's USP... well I don't know who coined this phrase… but it is such a wonderful tagline that camouflages , all the ill feelings and differences in our country from the eyes of the world and also from our own. One great civilization, in search of which the Europeans dared to explore the rough seas, and which was indirectly responsible for how the present world atlas looks, was divided into 2 nations, and bloodily on the basis of religion. Further ruled by our own countrymen we were divided into states, with divide running into languages, subsequent reservations and cultural policies divided us on basis of castes and sub-castes. I agree the castes and sub-caste existed even before the independence, but with Govt. having politics, policies biased by caste they simply reinforced the ugly scheme of things by simply reversing the hierarchy of stately support to these castes. 60 year old, we still call ourselves a Young Country to cover up the impunity o

Coloured Wings

Butterfly, a wonderful insect, viewed as a symbol of freedom, cheerfulness, zeal and vigor, a dutiful member of the food chain, A spring is unimaginable in the absence of these lovable fluttering insects, to the poets, playwright and also to the scientists. I had a thought about them too, sort of interesting. Why do we humans have an insatiable penchant for the bright and glitterati, with the example of the Butterfly, I want to put across my point, the butterfly is an ugly looking caterpillar, which morphs itself in a cocoon into a brightly coloured butterfly. How many times have you admired, or heard people admire a caterpillar, photographed them and cherishing the cocoon etc. Come spring when the lazy, ugly worm flies out to be a brightly coloured insect, from photographers to artists, to writers to poets go romantic and ecstatic in praising the butterfly. Scientists and nature enthusiasts run over hills and vales to catch, admire them and cherish t

MEASURES to Check Inflation…

Nearly Eight weeks since, the Petrol prices were raised and the lending rates of the Banks increased. The acclaimed “Dream Team” of Montek, Manmohan and Chidambaram’s acumen of FINE Economics has brought us to an unhealthy state of 13% inflation. The “AAM AADMI” is left lurching in the Scorching flames of fiery Commodity prices. The FM had vehemently and immaturely attributed the rise in prices of Edible Oils, cereal grains and the double digit inflation to the sharp rise in Crude Oil Prices, which was at its maximum of $150 a barrel, the Inflation index at this stage measured in the whereabouts of 8-9%, now when the Oil prices have fallen significantly and have settled at about $115 a barrel the Inflation is at 13%. Sadly inflation has continued to rise for 3 consecutive weeks. The hike in CRR has also not helped in curtailing the vices of high inflation. Still, the Govt continues to downplay the issue, and is not ready to accept it as a national concern and call far a Parliamentary

Indian SupPORT

The Olympics has just ended and it has given us a couple of more reasons to cheer and look forward for the next edition. A Bronze in 2000, Silver in 2004, and this time we have a Gold (after 28 Yrs and the first in an Individual Event), and 2 bronze medals, in Wrestling and Boxing. The Growth has definitely been progressive, but the Star that Shone today fails to shine again. In 1996 Indian Tennis received a Shot in the Arm with Paes winning a Bronze, In 2000 Weight-Lifting, thanks to Karnam Malleshwari; 2004 Silver in Trap-Shooting, a fete well accomplished by Rajyavardhan Rathod the Flag bearer of the Indian Contingent at Olympics, this time. It is Unfortunate that we haven’t been able to repeat the act, whether it is the same Star or the same event, we have not achieved the target for a second time, Only Individual performances on the given day and for given Circumstances have put Indian name on the medals tally (in plain words, it makes one doubt that it

Legally "Mine"

Nearly 20 days now and I’ve not posted on my blog. Though a relief for my readers, I’m loosing out on the immense pleasure that rushes in my veins, when the ink exudes on to the paper. The very reasons that kept me away from my blog have been the driving point in this post. When I sat back, letting my feet wet, by the tiny droplets of rain percolating through the plastic roof of my balcony and thought, over a cup of hot badam milk, did I realize, the reasons that mired my literary escapades being, a religious function at my house, the technological overloading as part of an ambitious effort to put my “CAREER” an TRACK, the myriad of Sporting Actions on the television (The Premier League, Olympics and the !dea Cricket Cup), the dose of viral symptoms for this calendar served against my will to post on my blog. But most important and comprehensible reason was that I stayed away from my “Corner”. Yeah, the 2”X6” mat at the corner of the Room, w

Terror Terror Go Away...

For “Gods Sake”, Fight U may; But Do it not, the brutal Way. Terror Terror Go Away; Is What the Govt., wants to Say, Don’t Make the Innocents pay, And Dump your Bombs In the Bay. We Beg, Plead and Also Pray; Terror Terror Go Away. Do u think, this kind of Nursery Rhymes, will help tackle the Security Issues staring starkly at the face of the Nation. At the SAARC meet, apparently this was what done by Mr. PM; The newspapers Heralded nationwide in Bold Letters “IND DELIVERS A TOUGH MESSAGE TO PAK”. In the past 2 weeks there have been more than 10 counts of breach of LOC and the Ceasefire sponsored by the Pak Army and Masterminded by the ISI, we are just so content in Delivering a Message at a Cozy meet. There is a need for more robust and standalone laws and a dedicated federal unit to implement them, equipped to take the terror bulls by the horn. 80’s and Early 90’s saw the birth of various terror groups around the peripherals of the country, and nearly three decades into it and still w

VOTE won TRUST lost

The representatives of my revered citizenship have set a bench mark in Political Ethos and Conduct of Parliamentary Affairs of a Sovereign Republic Like Ours, and unfortunately at the abyss of whatever can be called as the bare minimum. The Govt was expected to scrape thru the trust vote but it has SCRAPPED THROUGH the trust of its electorate, thanks to the abstentions and cross-votings. I would like to pose a question to those liberal, secular, well educated fellow countrymen who felt ashamed to be called Indians when the International Media lamented upon the Gujarat Riots to voice their opinions now, when the same media has been scorning at the So Called “DEMOCRATIC” of the country. False on my part and my political perspective, to not to mention the pathetic, infuriating and desperate actions of the BJP, which too made a tamasha of the Parliament, by flashing wads of currency notes on the floor of the country’s pinnacle of national representation. It just wanted to highlight the Ill

LADYluck

People say, to achieve your dreams & be successful one must have the will to work and some luck; more poetically phrased as Lady-Luck. God knows who phrased the term Lady Luck, but it is done aptly so, One need to have a lot of luck to have a lady of Luck by his side. If you are the one to follow the movies (especially Indian Cinema), U’ll come across umpteen numbers of them where the Hero and Heroine bump into each other in a crowded bus, or in a lonely compartment of a moving train (and the journey is absolutely romantic, through tunnels, valleys and over the rivers, and suitably long too), or in a cinema hall, where they happen to sit next to each other, or simply at a moment when the girl needs help and the hero is the only person around. Why isn’t in my life there is no Lady or no Luck?? Never Have I had a fortune of bumping into a girl, why is that always some skunk occupies the seat next to me in a theatre? Why do always Kids (quite a lot in num

UNclear NUclear

The DRAFT of the N-Deal has been leaked and now the Govt. has made it public, the draft says that India can place few Select reactors where the Nuclear fuel will be enriched for civilian purposes under the purview of the IAEA. The deal ensures India adequate supply of Nuclear fuel, but does not specify the sources for doing so, the NSG member countries are governed by the NPT and it has nothing to do with regulation of the nuclear fuel prices unlike the OPEC (the Governing body of Petroleum Produce). The Image that has painted by the Govt. for the public is that of a well informed move by the govt, risking its own majority for the better of the common man. From a skeptical point of view, look at the timing of approaching IAEA with the draft, the Country is to face general elections in about 10 months from now, although the Govt. can scrap through with the support of SP, if in case it fails to prove the majority, the Govt. the can continue in the of

Get GOvernING

Just about 40 days of govt. and its harsh to assess a Govt. with bare minimum majority. But surely they have not been doing what they should have done. I personally feel they’ve not been let to do what they must. For ages we’ve been seeing the farming community not only Karnataka but also elsewhere in the Nation, crying for adequate supply of sow seeds and fertilizers, but it had not snowballed into a major agitation, with a few of them committing suicide for the same. There are hundreds of protesters in the nation, nowhere do the police fire, forget real bullets they even fear to strike back at a mob, and that too a mob of farmers, and we have a Golibar happening at them. Barely into its seventh day in office the govt was put under a crucible, just give a thought, for nearly 60 years we’ve haven’t seen a change in terms of the governing, and we expect a radical change in 40 days, but with that, our chief minister who took oath in the name of the farmer could do little

A Thought about THOUGHT

Thought is an oil that feeds the mind’s lamp, sought by so many it is also feared by that many, an element that’s household of both HOPE and DISMAY , a clay molded by Determination and Will or Destiny , and designed having a potential to yield an unsurpassable triumph or a disheartening failure , it’s the same drive that inspires a serial killer and a saint, so obvious that thought is artists true paint, its useful and useless at the same. This single line means a MILLION TO ME, just was compelled to share on my blog, when I happened to look into my old diary... I seriously don't know, from where I found the urge to piece this sentence but this has been the lighthouse in the darkness around my life, ever since.

Dear Money

What has been the toughest question you’ve come across in your life?  The most uncomfortable and unfounded question to which, I’m at the answering end is, “What do u want do?”, “what are your plans for the FUTURE?”, “Where do u see yourself 10 years from Now?” and the Likes of such…. Which makes human life compulsorily planned and banal... I need to applaud, all those who’ve got an answer to this Question. About 90% of the answers to this question will be to pursue a good education (good=high scores or highly ranked by others) that will lead to an ample (ample is amplified 100 times over), and get “settled” (wanderers were u, before???), and MARRY the one you ‘love’, or 4 the unlucky “1’s” (singles) like me... just get MARRIED for the “Heck” of it.. I’m Sorry, not for the “Heck” of it but have a well-planned life, not just for yourself but also for your children, in (some cases for the over-ambitious, more intelligent and “well-organized” plan for their grand-children as
