VOTE won TRUST lost

The representatives of my revered citizenship have set a bench mark in Political Ethos and Conduct of Parliamentary Affairs of a Sovereign Republic Like Ours, and unfortunately at the abyss of whatever can be called as the bare minimum. The Govt was expected to scrape thru the trust vote but it has SCRAPPED THROUGH the trust of its electorate, thanks to the abstentions and cross-votings. I would like to pose a question to those liberal, secular, well educated fellow countrymen who felt ashamed to be called Indians when the International Media lamented upon the Gujarat Riots to voice their opinions now, when the same media has been scorning at the So Called “DEMOCRATIC” of the country.

False on my part and my political perspective, to not to mention the pathetic, infuriating and desperate actions of the BJP, which too made a tamasha of the Parliament, by flashing wads of currency notes on the floor of the country’s pinnacle of national representation. It just wanted to highlight the Ill doings of the Congress and its Allies putting the national pride and respect for electorate in tantrums the Political Think Tank of the BJP have failed and pathetically as well. They have tried to hijack the Issue from the trust vote to Ordinary TV Sting operations; it is known that horse trading was evident, but stooping to such mockery to assert that the bundles as proof of it, has brought the general public to ignominy. Unfortunately one of the BJP MPs Mr. Kulasthe who alleged that the UPA leaders were caught in a Sting operation carried out, was himself caught in the Sting operation on Cash for Question Scam. I neither deny the whole saga of MPs being bribed or Induced into cross voting but the manner the opposition staged it was condemnable. In case they had any substantial evidence, they should have approached the Speaker, President or The Supreme Court. The BJP is opposing the deal just to back it later, (may or may not be on similar terms but the seeds of the Nuclear Deal were sown during the previous regime).

The national polity has been put to shame, and unfortunately nobody is bothered about it. The corporate India does not want to be bothered as they are looking forward to the SOPs they will be getting from the Govt minus the impediment of the Left. The general public is terribly and overtly unfazed towards the political state of affairs of the nation that they do not rebel or even voice their resentment though they are disturbed by it.

Agreed that Mr.PM is enormously educated and was the man, who led India towards globalization, but what has he done as a PM, politics is not just economics (sadly today it stooped to be so), but a myriad of affairs ranging from International Diplomacy to National Sentiments and Sovereignty. The PM lashed out at Advani losing his humble self, may be he was desperate to put aside the Weakling tag, but why didn’t he do it say 1 year Prior during the Uttar Pradesh elections, simply because the Cong wasn’t going to bed with the Samajwadi Party. Some might call it the victory for the PM, but it sadly has been a Victory of his “allies” (old and new) and tainted ministers. I personally deem that given a free hand PM wouldn’t have hunched to the nadir of politics just to save his Govt., he must have stood by greater epitome of Ethics he personifies. One might point out the Credibility of our PM and his Qualifications, sorry to say that, he is not the boss in this Govt., please look at the qualifications of his ministers and allies and weigh them against with the opposition. I would like to remind that a govt is not run by 1 person, although it is led by one. Also someone questioned what if BJP had gone ahead with the deal; (if they did go ahead and in the same manner as that of UPA) I would say that it was equally eligible for censure. I would feel less soreness if Advani, Sonia, Chidambaram, Devegowda, or Lalu make mess of political subtlety than people who are politically and internationally respected like Vajpayee and Manmohan doing so.

For those who Say I’m biased, Yes I’m biased because I have a responsibility to vote for my nation as a citizen of it. Going with the crowd does not make one Unbiased. For those who claim to be Unbiased, are U really So? If yes, then in my opinion you are as Unbiased towards BJP and Cong as I’m towards 8051 and 8052, or Mc D and Burger King. Lack of facts or choice does not make me unbiased. In the land of Blinds a person with One Eye is the King. Make a choice of the best (sorry there’s no best, Utopia eludes humans) for the better among the Worst. For now the song sung by the UPA remains "SINGH is KINNG". Do not distance urself from politics because it is contaminated, but embrace it for the same.

An Anniversary with the Adversary

Feb 14 th evoked a lot of mixed and vexed emotions in me, not for the reason that I share my first name with the culture honcho Muthalik, but it was exactly a year before this Date, I met ‘HER’…. Yes HER refers to that special someone…. Many of you might know her, she’s pretty famous these days, but what u wouldn’t know is that I’m dating her… No, she’s not BulBul… This post is a Memoir of the bygone year with her, a repertoire of experiences she’s enriched me with… I intended to post on Valentine's Day itself, but because of the demanding nature of hers I was forced to stay away from the internet, and celebrate our anniversary elsewhere. I met her, for the first time on Feb 13 2008, She was at the HR room in the 5 th floor of my office, waiting for me there; after a couple of mins of talk, I sensed we were getting closer, I didn’t expect that it would be such, that she would be mine henceforth. I felt a Déjà vu when I saw her, I felt I had met her befor

Bharatha as I see it..

I’m writing this post, inspired by a whatsapp argument I had with my bunch of friends. I wanted to pen my thoughts independent of an argument cause its easier to be carried away by the heat of the argument and one might misquote or misinterpret one’s understanding of a subject as grey as the Mahabharata. The main issue of contention was that the idea of Kauravas vs the Pandavas, and how the whole of Mahabharatha was biased towards glorifying the Pandavas. My friends also opined that Pandavas had no legal right over the throne of Kuru vamsha.  I would like to clarify that Pandavas never staked claim to the throne of Hastinapur, being valid and rightful Princes of the Kuru vamsha they sought rightful co-existence with the Kauravas. The only rightful character in the whole of Mahabharata after Shantanu who had all the qualities of a King but choose to forego the same over a promise he had made to his father and step-mother Bhishma was supposed to take care of both Dritharastra’s and

Life in a Belly!!

We are gifted unlike other animals to perform different tasks that are beyond our natural abilities and habitat and also live a life out the physical, mental, geographical and intellectual boundaries of birth. We basically have an option to live a life and adopt a lifestyle that we wish to, unlike our lesser privileged subordinates of the evolution tree. We can be a fish that swims; an ape that jumps; a bird that flies or a bull that tows and tugs, and drive by this need or feel we are or we wish to be something and somebody our body and mind is comfortable with, and it should remain so. Animals on the other hand do not enjoy this freedom, they are anatomical and physically of the same build, and irrespective of their emotional need they are bound be restricted by certain limitations of their physiology. There are no skinny elephants, or fat lions or furry lizards, unless of course their geographical and evolutionary needs drive them to mutate into another species altogether.
